Kundalini Yoga is the yoga of “awareness”. This class will bring awareness of the mind, body, spirit connection through breath work (pranayam), sound (mantra), exercise sets (kriyas), deep relaxation (savasana), and meditation. Kundalini yoga balances the glandular system, strengthens the nervous system, builds immunity, and enables us to harness the energy of the mind and the emotions, so we can be in control of ourselves, rather than being controlled by our thoughts and feelings. This class is for everyone at any level of practice.
Svaroopa® Yoga is a technique for opening your body (roopa) to find your Self (sva. The practice creates a core opening by releasing the tensions in the deepest layers of your body. Dissolving these tensions allows you to live with ease, both in your body and in your deeper self. That ease is your birthright. This all happens without sweat or strain because Svaroopa® Yoga is not exercise but a scientific maximization of the body’s natural capacities. When practicing Svaroopa® Yoga, we delve into our body as if opening a precious gift carefully wrapped in many layers.
Slow Flow + Yin Yoga
A class created to help you pause amongst the chaos of daily life, here you will explore flowing movements at a slower pace, helping to cultivate deeper awareness of breath, body and Self. Yin postures will also be incorporated where students will hold a supported posture for longer periods of time, giving them the chance to really soften into the space and allow the body to open at its own free will without force. This is a great class if you want to move without being in a hurry, and restore both body and mind. All levels welcomed.
Monthly Meditation by Donation
This class will explore the technology of Kundalini Yoga to experience the many benefits and various types of meditation, including silent meditation, meditation using the breath and mantra, meditation using movement and mudra, and visualization. We will begin with light stretching and breath work to calm and relax the body, then gently move into the meditation. Class will end with deep relaxation to allow the body to integrate the changes created through meditation. This class is for everyone with any level of meditation experience. No yoga experience necessary.
