“Yoga has never been truly described for what it is. It is an art and a science with which you can leap over the pitfalls of life. It is a science and knowledge, and art, where mind and body can work in union and spirit will back it up.”

Kundalini Yoga for Beginners
This class develops a deep understanding of the foundations of Kundalini Yoga. We will learn the importance of the breath and practice the various breaths used in Kundalini Yoga. We will understand the importance of and practice the three components of a Kundalini Yoga class: exercise sets (kriyas), the deep relaxation to integrate the work done in the kriya, and the meditation to bring awareness and discipline to the mind. This class is for beginners or anyone with a desire to deepen their practice.
Kundalini Yoga is the yoga of “awareness”. This class will bring awareness of the mind, body, spirit connection through breath work (pranayam), sound (mantra), exercise sets (kriyas), deep relaxation (savasana), and meditation. Kundalini yoga balances the glandular system, strengthens the nervous system, builds immunity, and enables us to harness the energy of the mind and the emotions, so we can be in control of ourselves, rather than being controlled by our thoughts and feelings. This class is for everyone at any level of practice.
This class will explore the many benefits of meditation and the various types of meditation including silent meditation, meditation using the breath, meditation using mantra, and visualization. We will begin with light stretching and breath work to calm and relax the body to prepare for meditation, then gently move into the meditation. Class will end with deep relaxation to allow the body to integrate the changes created through meditation. This class is for everyone with any level of meditation experience.
“Without meditation, and without a relationship to your mind, you fail to use the power of the mind. You fail to rely on your self. You complicate your approach. You do not use the beautiful designs given to you by birthright in this body, that link the effectiveness of body, mind, soul and you.”
~ Yogi Bhajan
