Kundalini Yoga for Beginners
This class develops a deep understanding of the foundations of Kundalini Yoga. We will learn the importance of the breath and practice the various breaths used in Kundalini Yoga. We will understand the importance of and practice the three components of a Kundalini Yoga class: exercise sets (kriyas), the deep relaxation to integrate the work done in the kriya, and the meditation to bring awareness and discipline to the mind. This class is for beginners or anyone with a desire to deepen their practice.
Kundalini Yoga is the yoga of “awareness”. This class will bring awareness of the mind, body, spirit connection through breath work (pranayam), sound (mantra), exercise sets (kriyas), deep relaxation (savasana), and meditation. Kundalini yoga balances the glandular system, strengthens the nervous system, builds immunity, and enables us to harness the energy of the mind and the emotions, so we can be in control of ourselves, rather than being controlled by our thoughts and feelings. This class is for everyone at any level of practice.
