Food as Medicine: Eating for Wellness
February 23 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
with Barbara Blackwell, CNS, PT
Barbara will introduce you to eating from the perspective of Functional Nutrition, which emphasizes the importance of high quality foods and personalized dietary balance to create optimal wellness. Food is more than fuel or calories; in fact food delivers information to your body on the cellular level with every bite, creating health or disease.
We will review the fundamentals of nutrition, common excesses and deficiencies, and healthy eating strategies.
This is a great opportunity to learn the foundations of healthy eating, improving your diet, and establishing a solid base of knowledge to better evaluate the latest nutrition recommendations in the media.
This workshop includes a food plan, recipes, smoothie sample, and a discount for lunch at Karma Foods.
